I went out and found objects that appealed to me. I design observational drawings and then designed them in three different style of Decorative, surreal and simplistic.
A Spanish dancing doll that is armless. I found it in the studio and instant wanted to draw it.
The media that I used was a sketch out of pencil, so that I had something to follow. I then proceed to fine line the outline of the drawing. I then used a red ink to create the red dress. Then I overlaid it with gold ink and a black brush pen for the lace. I also went over it again with fine liner to add shade into the dress. The skin was done in pro markers so was the hat. The final touch was adding a little bit of light, which was done in a white gel pen.
This is a hairbrush from my room. I chose this because I wanted to try out lighting on a dark object. For the brush drawing creation I used ink crayons, a water brush pen, white gel pen and a red pro marker. I found out that using the crayons were easy for shying because I simply just had to apply more strokes of the crayon. I then had to create the red bit in the middle which again was the same process from before. But for the rec dots, I had to use a white gel pen on top because I want to add depth to hairbrush and the red pro markers did not come through the black.
This is a plant from my room. I want to draw this because of the lighting from my window. Which created the perfect shading scale for shading. this was created with crayons and it was simple gone over and over again to created the sense of depth and shade.
This is a piece of clockwork that I found in the studio and again, I had to draw it. This was created in photoshop, I first created a light drawing to follow and then used coloured in the sections. I created the metal texture by using gradient and noise.
